Ward and Bosevski claim victory in first round of Touchdown Helicopters Junior Series

The first round of the Touchdown Helicopters Junior Open Series was held at Russell Vale Golf Club on Sunday. In tough conditions it was Eddie Ward who now plays out of St Michaels took out the boy’s section by two shots from Kiama’s Wil Daibarra. Eddie also won the title of overall champion for the best gross score by either a boy or girl with a 68. Port Kembla’s Selena Bosevski opened the 2019 series with a win in the girl’s section with her 74 giving her victory by seven shots with the Country Club of Vincentia’s Sienna Clarke runner-up. The boy’s overall nett was won by Russell Vale’s Thomas Eagleton who finished with a nett 62. Eagleton also took out the Illawarra Cup for the best nett score of the day. The stableford competition was won eight year old Charlie Curyer from Country Club of Vincentia with 40 points with Heath Wheeler from Russell Vale taking second on a countback with 35 points.

Boy’s 15 & over gross – Wil Daibarra (Kiama) 70

Boy’s 15 & over nett – Jack Pritchard (Russell Vale) 75

Boy’s 14 & under gross – Bradley Wills (Links Shell Cove) 71

Boy’s 14 & under nett – Noah Graham (Camden) 67
